Colorized tail

28 May

I was tailing a logfile and I wanted to colorize some specific keywords in it. I found Andreas Schamanek’s mycolorize which serves perfectly for the purpose.

Download it and use it by doing

$ tail logfile | ~/mycolorize color 'regexp'

You can check additional examples and documentation on the website.

    Hi, I just happened to stumble over your post. Thanks for featuring mycolorize!
    Recently, I have updated the script to use ”sed -r” which simplifies the regex syntax a lot. It’s available as mycoloirze-r.sh. HTH.

    The article has truly peaked my interest. I will take a note of your website and keep checking for new
    information about once a week. I subscribed to your
